About a Horse

Hello friends,

We have been working hard in preparing for a new farming season. We will have a few more updates on farming coming soon. The soil has to be fluffed up and weeds need to be removed. Recently we have invited a neighbor to help with plowing our back yard field. He has a horse and we wanted to share a video of this beautiful animal with you.

Also, I’m going to tell you a short story about a hard worker in the Russian countryside – a Horse.
There are not so many horses left in Russian villages. Almost every second country home used to have one of their own. Many people nowadays have tractors instead or some other small machinery.

This Horse is about 20 years old and in Human years that would be near 68 years old and look how strong and beautiful this horse still is in comparison to an equal 68-year-old average human been.

Horses Live about 25 to 30 years if they have good care. 30 horse years equal to 93 old in human years.

This Horse in Russia costs about 1000 dollars. You can buy a young and untrained horse for about 820 hundred dollars.

That’s why not so many people have a horse. A horse is expansive, needs a lot of care, proper shelter and plenty of food for the winter. Plus it is not rare that a horse can get stolen.

For example, if you let your horse out in the grass field at night to eat fresh grass. During the day the sun can be too hot for the horse and multiple botflies can be very annoying to a horse. But at night it is nice for a horse. Air is not so hot and there are no bugs that bite and annoy her without a break. You get up in the morning and realize the horse is gone and stollen. And later you might find just hoofs and the tail in the nearby forest.
